Effect of the Presence of HCl on Simultaneous CO2 Capture and Contaminants Removal from Simulated Biomass Gasification Producer Gas by CaO-Fe2O3 Sorbent in Calcium Looping Cycles

This study investigated the effect of HCl in biomass gasification producer gas on CO2 capture efficiency and contaminants removal by CaO-Fe2O3 based sorbent material calcium looping process. Experiments were conducted a fixed bed reactor to from with combined at 200 ppmv, H2S 230 NH3 2300 ppmv. The results show that presence feeding gas, reactivity for was enhanced. maximum achieved carbonation temperatures 680 °C, efficiencies 93%, 92%, 87%, respectively, three carbonation-calcination cycles. At this temperature, average contaminant 92.7% HCl, 99% NH3, 94.7% H2S. outlet concentrations during calcination process also examined which is useful reuse. pore structure change used suggests contributes high simultaneously.
